Course Description
This course provides an overview of NEC Article 430: Motors, Motor Circuits, and Controllers. Participants will become familiar with using code publications; gain a clear understanding of how the NEC rule-making process works; and discuss and analyze the most pertinent and commonly encountered additions and deletions in the current edition of the NEC. Topics include definitions and terminology, motor nameplate requirements, calculating motor circuit conductors, branch circuit overcurrent protective devices, motor and branch circuit ground fault protection, installation of controllers and disconnects, sizing of fuses and circuit breaker and feeder tap rules. Supplemental handouts included in cost of course.
